Public Outreach
The Plan was created by extensive public and stakeholder input gathered through meetings, surveys, and other engagement methods.
A project Advisory Group was formed in March 2023 and includes community members who held a vested interest in the Plan’s development such as property/business owners, neighborhood representatives, special interest advocates, and developers. Invitations were mailed to property owners within the study areas for both stations, and additional stakeholders were contacted who had expressed interest in the station areas either through previous DART or City of Plano Silver Line planning efforts.
engagement Events
The Plan reflects the community’s vision and was shaped by extensive public and stakeholder input gathered through meetings, surveys, and other engagement methods. The first engagement event for the Plan was held in April 2023. Community feedback was gathered through multiple in-person and online engagement opportunities between April 2023 and February 2024.
VIRTUAL VISIONING WORKSHOP - APRIL 27, 2023
The City of Plano Planning Department held a Virtual Visioning Workshop on April 27, 2023 with the Advisory Group members. This workshop was an interactive meeting where participants discussed needs and desires for future transit-oriented development and redevelopment around the new station areas.
The results of the workshop are below. Please click the links for more information.
CHARRETTE AND OPEN HOUSE - JUNE 27-29, 2023

The event was held June 27-29, 2023 at the Sam Johnson Senior Recreation Center.
Following the in-person charrette and open house, a virtual open house was available from July 24 - August 21, 2023. The purpose of the Virtual Open House was to showcase the findings gathered at the in-person meetings and to engage those who were unable to attend the meetings in-person.

COMMUNITY SURVEY - MAY 31-JULY 14, 2023
The City of Plano Planning Department hosted an online Community Survey from May 31 - July 14, 2023. The web-based survey consisted of 44 questions to understand respondents' concerns, attitudes and opinions related to future development around the upcoming 12th Street and Shiloh Road Silver Line stations.

Public Open House #2 - February 6, 2024
The input gathered from previous events with the Advisory Group and the public formed the foundation of the Draft Framework Plans, which aim to align with community aspirations, economic development potential, and transit-oriented development principles. The project Advisory Group met on December 13, 2023 to review the Draft Station Area Framework Plans to provide initial input and refinements prior to presenting the recommendations at the Public Open House #2.
The objective of Public Open House #2 on February 6, 2024 was to present and gather input to make final refinements to the Draft Station Area Framework Plans that address recommendations for Future Land Use, Transportation & Infrastructure, and Open Space & Character. These Framework Plans serve as the basis for the development of the complete Silver Line Station Areas Plan document. During the open house, attendees had the opportunity to learn about the plan and review what we've heard so far. Draft Framework Plan maps and recommendations were presented, and attendees were encouraged to provide comments on what ideas they were most excited about, any concerns they had, or any additional thoughts they wanted to share.
The input results of the Advisory Group Meeting Public Open House can be found HERE.
